We Seem to Forget by P. Carlton Pickens Sr., Author,Evangelist

As people pass by us,
Some of us hide behind the Cross.
Not wanting them near us,
That's the unsaved and the lost.
Unchurched and back slidden,
Also those can stay away.
We don't want to hang with them,
Best if they keep going astray.

We seem to forget, who and where we were, now not giving others a chance.
Even though we walk, a different path you see, choosing not to remember, our old world's romance.

We seem to forget, the life we lived before, looking down on everyone, that reflects our past the more.

We seem to forget, the saints who were at our side, the more we fell down, the harder they tried.

We seem to forget, how He kept us in His Hand, and as people cry for help, we refuse to understand.

We seem to forget, when He held us in His Arms, no matter what life through our way, it caused us no harm.

We must remember, we were there just yesterday and instead of being a stumbling block, let's help them along the way.

We've got to remember, we have faults, and still we fail and just like the ones we ostracize, only in God will we all prevail.
